The P.G. Cougars second round opponent has been determined

The Prince George Cougars will face the Kelowna Rockets in the WHL Western Conference semifinals.

This was confirmed tonight (Sunday) after Kelowna beat Wenatchee 4-2 and the Everett Silvertips blanked the Vancouver Giants 5-0.

The Rockets won the best-of-7 series in six games while the Silvertips needed just five games to eliminate the Giants.

Kelowna will visit Prince George on Friday and Saturday in the first two games.

Less than 1,000 tickets are left for each of those games.

The series will shift to Kelowna for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, April 16th and 17th.

The Cougars went 6-1-0-1 against the Rockets during the regular season, although the last two match-ups were won by PG 6-5 in a shootout and 6-5 in overtime.

The other Western semi features Everett against the Portland Winterhawks.

In the East, Saskatoon battles Red Deer and Moose Jaw takes on Swift Current in the Conference semis.
