BC tables anti-racism legislation; to hold public bodies accountable

The provincial government has introduced legislation that would hold public organizations accountable for addressing systemic racism in their policies and programs.

It would cover provincial ministries and agencies, the health-care sector, and social service providers.

They would be required to develop a public program and action plan using data the government has collected.

Compliance orders would be issued by the government if goals of the plan were not met.
