PG fire crews put out 4th Avenue tire fire

It didn’t take long for Prince George Firefighters to extinguish a tire fire downtown.

Crews responded to the call just after 8:30 pm last night (Wednesday) after a large black plume of smoke could be seen coming from the area of 448 4th Avenue.

Once on scene, firefighters discovered a large pile of commercial truck tires burning on the vacant lot at the address.

One crew of four members and an apparatus extinguished the blaze within minutes.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated.

No members of the public or firefighters were injured at the scene
