PG RCMP launch investigation after youth driver crashes into Wal-Mart

Police in Prince George were alerted to a vehicle that had reportedly crashed into the side of Wal-Mart on Southridge Avenue, causing damage to the exterior wall.

“When police officers attended they quickly located the youth driver, who was transported to the hospital by Emergency Health Services. The family of the youth was already at the location and they are cooperating with the police investigation,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

The youth driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

No serious injuries have been reported. The investigation remains ongoing.

As a result of the incident, Wal-Mart is closed until further notice.

Attention Wal-Mart shoppers, the Prince George location will be closed today (Friday).

In a Facebook post, the closure is due to a damaged wall exterior.

The store apologies for any inconvenience and we will provide more updates once they are available.
