Trades expo a highlight of Northern BC Home and Garden show

The 44th Annual Northern BC Home and Garden Show is wrapping up in Prince George today. (Sunday)

“We were saying you can come to the home show, find someone to design, build, buy or sell your home, refurbish your bathroom, your kitchen,” Canadian Home Builders Association of Northern BC Executive Director Terri McConnachie.

McConnachie said the trades expo was a highlight of the show this weekend.

“We had a whole group of tradespeople, tradeswomen in particular that were just here sharing what was the inspiration for them, what were the pinch points, and the hurdles and how did they solve them, and how did they find their fit, find the support, and the financial support, in particular, to support them during their training that offers them this opportunity for their future in trades,” McConnachie said.

She said the only thing missing was a dating service, and said “you never know” when asked about it for next year’s installment.

“It’s a great community engagement, as we say, you find what you need for your home at the home show, and you’ll meet your friends and neighbours,”

“After we shake off winter, albeit a light one this year, it’s still a good opportunity to make those connections.”
