A Prince George man has been sentenced to nine years in prison in connection with the death of his wife in Alberta.
Paul Tamasi was made aware of his fate last week at the Court of Kings Bench in Grande Prairie.
In February, Tamasi pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Tamasi was also given a lifetime firearms ban.
He was charged with the disappearance and death of Karen Jordan dating back to November of 2013.
She was reported missing on February 10th, 2016, and at the time, it was noted Jordan had not been in touch with family for over five years.
The Grande Prairie RCMP stated she was presumed dead, and evidence collected suggested Jordan was last seen in November 2013 with Tamasi.
Her remains were found near Wembley, west of Grande Prairie in September 2020.
Tamasi was arrested and charged three years ago and was living in the northern capital at the time of his arrest.
