Cariboo Cougars captain commits to PG Spruce Kings

Another Northern BC-born hockey player will lace up the skates for the Prince George Spruce Kings next season.

The latest to sign is U18 Cariboo Cougars captain Mason Loewen.

Loewen who is from Charlie Lake, spent the last two seasons with the Cariboo program scoring 42 goals and added 38 assists for 80 points.

In addition, he tallied six goals and added three assists in seven playoff games.

“This really means a lot to me being a fan of the Spruce Kings my entire life to being a part of this great organization. It is a huge honour and I am really looking forward to it,” added Loewen.

Loewen suited up for a pair of playoff games for the Spruce Kings during their first round series against the Penticton Vees, which ended in four games.

The 18-year-old joins fellow Cariboo grads Carter Hesselgrave, Ryder Green, Linden Makow and Scott Cousins on the Spruce Kings roster.
