Gravel Pit Lake closed this Saturday

Prince George RCMP will be closing access to Kwitzil Lake, or Gravel Pit Lake as it’s also known, this Saturday night.

Police made the announcement after they received word that an “unsanctioned graduation ceremony” was to take place, and in light of the deaths of two high school students last weekend.

Inspector Brad Anderson says police want to minimize the chance of further incidents, given the possible combination of alcohol and high emotions.

Police ask anyone taking part in graduation ceremonies do so by making responsible decisions.
