Public Safety Town Hall to be held May 28th

The City of Prince George will be hosting a Community Safety Town Hall meeting on May 28th at the Civic Centre.

The event is scheduled to start a 4:00 pm on that day, and is open to anyone who would like to learn and comment on safety concerns in Prince George.

According to the City’ the event format is as follows:

  • 4 p.m: open house with information panels around the room and a chance to chat with members of council and staff.
  • 5 p.m to 6 p.m: panel presentations. Panel to include the city manager, fire chief, RCMP superintendent plus representatives from Northern Health and BC Housing (NB: Some details are still being confirmed and this may change).
  • 6 p.m to 8 p.m: questions and answer segment managed by a facilitator.

Following the town hall, there will be a council workshop to review the feedback and a public report to Council on findings and actionable items.

Prince George City Council voted to host the meeting during their regular meeting on April 22nd.

Special Olympics BC Summer Games: The 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games in Prince George is officially over.

Organizers “extremely pleased” with Special Olympics BC Games

After two days of competition, the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games have come to a close.  The games brought around 900 athletes to the Prince George area to compete in ten different sports on Friday and Saturday.  "With any large, large tournament like this, you're always running with your hair straight back just to get everything ready, and we certainly managed to put everything together," said Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee Lyn Hall.
