Police investigating break-ins at cell towers

Police are urging businesses with remote buildings or stations to install security cameras after two recent break-and-enters at cell towers in the Prince George area.

According to the Prince George RCMP, the first happened near the Bobtail Forest Service Road and Highway 16 East on April 23rd, the second happened on May 7th near Berman Lake.

The thieves stole “a large amount of equipment” and caused “extensive damage” to the first cell tower and took several meters of copper wire from the second – though the value of each theft is currently unknown.

Anyone with information on who may have broken into these towers, or where the contents may be now, is being asked to contact the Prince George RCMP or Crimestoppers.
