PG Community Foundation, Downtown Rotary top up funding for BMX Supertrak rebuild

The entire rebuild of Prince George’s BMX Supertrak is a step closer to reality.

Today (Wednesday), the Prince George Community Foundation and Downtown Rotary Club topped up their funding support for the project to 100-grand – this after originally donating over 76-thousand dollars.

PGCF Director of Development, Mindy Stroet told MyPGNow.com it was a pretty easy decision.

“The Rotary Club of Prince George and the Community Foundation thought that why not top it up so that this project can get started right away and be ready for riders as quickly as possible.”

“We are lucky and fortunate to have the funding available in order to make this decision and we always like to see projects 100% funded so the fact we were able to do that this time as an organization is really exciting.”

The original grant represented all funds remaining from the proposed mega park project, including the proceeds from the PG Cougar’s Mega 50/50 jackpot.

The rebuild will elevate the caliber of training for athletes and open doors to hosting larger and more prestigious competitions in the city.
