T-Wolves MBB add six-foot-nine recruit from the Fraser Valley

Another towering big man will be suiting up for the UNBC Timberwolves men’s basketball team next season.

Today (Tuesday), head coach Todd Jordan announced today that 6’9″ center Miller Davies of Chilliwack has committed to the program.

Davies, a soon-to-be honour roll graduate of Chilliwack Secondary School averaged 25 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks per game for the Chilliwack Secondary Storm. He was named MVP at four different senior tournaments last season.

Davies’ size and work ethic jumped off the page for Jordan during the recruiting process.

“Miller is a really good guy and a great student. You don’t have 6’9 bodies walk through the door every day, and I was impressed with some of his raw physical tools,” recalled Todd Jordan.

“He has good hands and moves well for a young, big guy. If Miller works hard over the next couple of years, I believe he has a shot at becoming a very good player in the long run. He knows he needs to get in the weight room and get stronger, and I am excited to help him build his footwork, skills, and overall game. We are proud of some of the development we’ve had with our big guys over the years, and I’m looking forward to helping Miller on his journey.”

Off the court, Davies plans to study Business Commerce with the intent of earning a Bachelor of Finance. He’s cracked the Honour Roll in each of the past four years, and spends his down time coaching axe throwing, and helping out at the Salvation Army food kitchen, Rotary Club book sales and representing the Rotary Leaders of Tomorrow.
