T-Wolves WSOC add Okanagan midfielder to its lineup

The UNBC Timberwolves women’s soccer team has added another player with an attacking mindset.

Head coach Neil Segdwick announced today (Friday) that centre midfielder Anna Thorsteinson of Kelowna has signed with the program.

Thorsteinson, a soon-to-be graduate of Okanagan Mission Secondary, visited UNBC in March alongside fellow 2024 commit Grace Barrett.

“I just love the campus so much,” expressed Thorsteinson who plans to study Psychology while pursuing a Bachelor of Science. “It’s really outdoorsy, and just so nice compared to where I’ve been training before.”

She arrives at UNBC having previously played alongside Anna deWynter, Aimée Glasser and Lauren Gubbels at the club level (Thompson Okanagan Football Club) and has also trained with Kayla Gareau and Kambria Mellum.

Thorsteinson’s passion for soccer started at a young age when she watched her Mom play, and would run down the sidelines alongside her. She moved around a fair bit as a child, so soccer became a reliable constant in her life.
