From the Fighting Irish to the T-Wolves: Vancouver guard joins UNBC MBB

Another guard has signed on with the he UNBC Timberwolves men’s basketball team.

Head Coach Todd Jordan announced today (Wednesday) Vancouver College varsity captain Isaiah Bias signed a commitment.

Bias heads north after completing a remarkable final season with the Vancouver College Fighting Irish. During the regular season he averaged 17.2 points-per-game along with 5.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 3.4 steals and, 0.4 blocks.

Bias has served as captain in each of his previous two high school seasons and in 2023-24 was named Team MVP and captured all-star honours at the Burnaby South Tournament, the Sea-to-Sky Tournament and, the B.C. Catholics Tournament.

Scholastically Bias earned a spot on the President’s Honour Roll in October, 2022 and plans to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing at UNBC.

“I’m a quick, up-tempo guard that loves to push the ball up the court and attack the hoop,” revealed Bias who also participated in high school football, volleyball and track and field. “I like distributing [the ball] to, because when I get my guys going I can push myself to a different level.”

In April, Bias attended the Timberwolves Spring ID Camp and became the third player to commit to the program after that meeting.

“Committing to UNBC was an easy decision. Something that struck my attention was the program’s culture and core beliefs. They play very unselfish basketball and that’s something I want to be a part of. “I really like UNBC’s facilities. The Northern Sports Centre is definitely a place I see myself being at every day.”
