After a wet and rainy May, warmer temperatures are on the horizon for Prince George in June.
After an unsettled start to the week, Environment Canada Meteorologist, Ken Dosanjh told MyPGNow.com it will feel a lot more like summer in the coming days.
“We are still looking at generally unsettled kind of showers and the risk of thunderstorms from now until Tuesday night. We are going to start to notice a ridge of high pressure that is going to start to build from the south and that will keep things clear and dry with temperatures reaching the mid-twenties.”
The average mean temperature for May was 9.2 degrees – the normal for the month is 10.
“There was a bit of a blip from May 9th to 11th where temperatures did kind of climb above seasonal for a few degrees but on average, we are looking at a degree below.”
As for precipitation, the northern capital saw 41.2 millimetres of rain – the usual amount for May is 49.
