The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality says the Evacuation Alert for Fort Nelson, the surrounding First Nation as well as Highway 77 North and 97 South has been rescinded.

This also included the 292 Subdivision.

It took effect as of 8 o’clock this morning (Friday).

Roughly 3,400 evacuees took up shelter in Dawson Creek, Fort St. John and Prince George during that time.

PG took in 330 evacuees.
