Montreal Police arrest murder suspect in Prince George

A homicide investigation that required 100 police officers from four different forces has ended in Prince George according to the Montreal Police Service.

Today (Tuesday), the Major Crimes Section of the Montreal Police arrested a pair of suspects in connection with the shooting death of a 27-year-old man on Tuesday, May 14th, with one of the suspects located in Prince George.

The 31-year-old suspect will appear in P.G. court to face charges of first-degree murder.

In addition, a 25-year-old man from Saint Jerome, Quebec will attend Montreal court tomorrow (Wednesday), and will also be charged with first-degree murder.

On the night of May 14th, police in Montreal responded to a shots fired call where a man was unconscious on Park Avenue near Legendre Street.

Police say the suspects fled in a vehicle prior to officers arriving.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

It was the 11th homicide recorded this year on the island of Montreal.

The investigation was led by Montreal Police along with the assistance of the RCMP, Laval Police Service, Quebec Provincial Police, plus the Vancouver and Victoria Police Departments.
