Residents launch Dirt Road Maintenance Fund on North Nechako Road

A Go Fund Me has been set up to assist with dirt road maintenance for a portion of North Nechako Road.

The post states it has been privately maintained by residents beyond the cut banks for over 40 years and demands year-round upkeep, involving heavy equipment, skilled operators, and hours of resident labor.

This includes maintenance, parts, fuel, and occasional mechanic services and heavy equipment towing at times.

The road is outside city limits and primarily leads to private properties and reserve land, many city residents enjoy it for recreational activities such as walking, dog walking, biking, ATV’s hunting and river access.

Currently the two essential machines used to maintain the road are down and in need of maintenance and repair.

A fundraising goal of $10,000 has been set.
