Firework ban in place over Canada Day long weekend

The City of Prince George is reminding its residents that a firework ban is in place over the Canada Day long weekend.

There will be no official city fireworks show, normally held from Connaught Hill, but it also means personal fireworks are not allowed either.

Category 2 and 3 fire bans went into place in the Prince George Fire Zone on March 28th.

Campfires are still allowed, but anyone found breaking the bans could be on the hook for a $1,150 ticket, or fines ranging up to $100,00.
