10 properties near McBride ordered to evacuate

Ten properties southeast of McBride have been put on evacuation order due to the Beaver River wildfire.

Anyone in the area must leave immediately, and remain away until the order is lifted.

Anyone who has been evacuated is required to contact the regional district, which will make arrangements for food and lodging, livestock relocation, feed, and housing expenses if needed.

Emergency Support Services and Livestock relocation can be contacted at 1-250-960-4400 and 1-800-667-1959.

The evacuation order encompasses part of the area where an alert was recently put into place.
