Fort St. James mill curtailed short term

Hampton Lumber has announced it is halting its Fort St. James mill for five weeks “due to low log availability.”

In a statement posted to Facebook, the company says the log yard, kilns, planer and shipping will carry on uninterrupted.

“Despite the challenges posed by log supply, we remain committed to our Northern Operations and to fostering strong relationships with local First Nations and communities,” the statement reads.
