PG Hospice first in BC to become accredited

The Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society (PGHPCS) is now officially accredited.

The accreditation comes from the Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO) accreditation program – the PGHPCS is the first hospice outside of Ontario to be accredited by the program.

According to the PGHPCS, “The HPCO accreditation not only validates our commitment to providing top-quality care but also sets us apart as a leader in the field.”

“I am grateful to our dedicated staff and volunteers at PGHPCS for their hard work in helping us meet the accreditation standards,” said Donna Flood Executive Director “This achievement is a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence and compassion.”

The organization says this, and all their achievements, are impossible without community backing.

Northern Health provides 44 per cent of Hospice’s annual funding, they rely on the community to raise another $2 million annually.
