Plenty to do at the BCNE this week

Northern BC’s largest annual fall fair is ready to open the gates to thousands once again this weekend.

The BC Northern Exhibition (BCNE) kicks off at 10:00 this morning (Thursday).

“We are excited to have West Coast [Amusements] back it is a different unit, so there will be some new rides on site,” organizer Sylvie Lyzell.

She added there will be robust options for food throughout the event.

“We have 18 food trucks to keep everybody fed and hopefully the lineups not so long,” she said.

“We have some new stuff going on, tacos are coming in, we’ve got some donairs, we got some ice cream, there’s a ton of variety for everybody.”

Lyzell said Ryan Cook will be returning to do chainsaw carvings for the first time since 2019 as well.

“He’s got a cute little show going and he’ll be carving all day doing demonstrations on Thursday and Friday.”

Cook won’t be there Saturday, but he’ll be replaced by the Grey Cup Promotional Tour.

Lyzell added this year’s Ale Fest has been expanded to allow Ciders.

“This year we have switched up the name a little bit, it is the BCNE Trade Route Beer and Cider Festival,”

“We are so excited to introduce and have Coldfront Cidery and Slaughterhouse Cidery join us this year, we have six breweries with us this year from across BC and from right here in Prince George.”

The BCNE runs until Sunday.

A full lineup of entertainment and events can be found here.
