RCMP investigating a home invasion that left one injured in Williams Lake

– Files from Zachary Barrowcliff, My Cariboo Now

Williams Lake RCMP are investigating an early morning home invasion that sent one person to hospital.

At 1:17 this morning (August 15th), police were called to a residence on Carson Drive where it was reported that three unknown men went into the home carrying machetes.

Crews immediately responded and called for the residents to exit the home, where one was visibly injured and taken to hospital by Emergency Health Services for non-life-threatening injuries.

A witness reported that the victim was dragged out of a bedroom and assaulted, with the three suspects described as dressed in all black and their faces covered, then fled on foot.

The investigation is in it’s early stages, and police believe this to be isolated and targeted, and don’t feel there’s any risk to the public.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Williams Lake RCMP at 250-392-6211.
