Williams Lake RCMP continue their investigation into a motor vehicle incident that closed Highway 97 South of Williams Lake yesterday. (Monday)
North District Corporal Madonna Saunderson said police responded to the scene between Knife Creek Road and Rodeo Drive just before 3:00 pm, involving a pickup and a tractor trailer unit.
Saunderson said the driver of the pickup was injured and extracted from the vehicle and taken to hospital for treatment.
She said the driver’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening and the driver of the tractor trailer appeared to not be injured.
The investigation is active and ongoing to determine causal factors.
The Highway was closed in both directions and reopened just after 5:00.
