The Prince George Aquatic Centre will be closed for about a month due to annual maintenance.
According to the city, the facility will be closed starting on Monday (September 2nd) and will remain that way until October 6th.
Even though the funding has recently been approved for some extensive maintenance work on this facility, that is not starting until summer 2025.
The pools will be drained and deep cleaned, as well as the following scheduled upgrades:
- Installing new bleachers
- Putting new cardio equipment into the gym area
- Regular maintenance
During the closure, the Canfor Leisure Pool will operate under extended hours.
The Canfor Leisure Pool will be closed for one day on Friday August 30 for maintenance (mechanical testing and calibration).
In addition, the downtown pool is scheduled for maintenance between December 2 and January 5.
