YXS President and CEO taking off into retirement

Gord Duke is officially counting down the days until his next visit to the airport is for a vacation, not for work.

Duke, the President and CEO of the Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA), has announced he will be retiring at the end of the year, his final day will be New Year’s Eve.

His tenure at the top of the airport started in 2019, just before the start of the pandemic.

“Gordon has been a steady and dedicated leader during a time of significant change,” said Derek Dougherty, Board Chair of PGAA. “His commitment to the success of the airport and its community has been exemplary. As we prepare for his departure, the Board has formed a search committee to identify our next CEO, a task we do not take lightly.”

“It has been a privilege to lead the Prince George Airport Authority over the past five years,” said Duke. “I am deeply proud of the progress we have made as an organization, and the incredible partnerships we’ve formed. While I look forward to new chapters in my life, I will always cherish my time at PGAA and the community that supported our journey.”

The airport board will begin the search for a new President and CEO “in the coming weeks.”
