Smithers’ McCreesh claims Paralympic bronze

An Olympic medal is on its way back to northern BC.

Jennifer McCreesh, from Smithers, and the Canadian women’s sitting volleyball team, claimed bronze at the Paris Paralympics this morning (Saturday), beating Brazil 3 sets to 0.

Fort St. John’s Bo Hedges and the Canadian men’s wheelchair basketball team fell to Germany 75-62 in the bronze medal game this morning.

They were outscored 48-27 in the back half of the match.

Kady Dandeneau and the Canadian women’s wheelchair basketball team play China for bronze at 1:30am tomorrow.

Prince George’s Joel Ewert and the Canadian men’s wheelchair rugby team finished 6th place with two wins and two losses.
