Missing Lakes District girl located safe

A six-year-old girl who went missing south of Burns Lake was located at 6:00 tonight. (Sunday)

According to RCMP, she was found in a forested area between her residence and the band office.

They believe she was moving during the search as where she was located had already been searched.

“This is the outcome that we all hoped for, she was missing for multiple days, but everyone searching remained dedicated to bringing her home safely,” said Burns Lake RCMP Detachment Commander, S/Sgt. Joshua Smith.

“We are thankful for the support of all our partner agencies and volunteers that worked day and night to achieve this outcome.”

The girl was reported missing on Thursday.
