One person has died following a house fire in Prince George

A house fire on Quince Street claimed a life.

Friday night (Sept 27th), at approximately 9:20, emergency services, including the Prince George RCMP, received a report of a fire and shortly after arriving observed flames coming out of the residence.

According to Cpl. Sonja Blom of the Prince George RCMP, “Officers assisted in evacuating nearby residences and obtained statements from witnesses on scene. Once the fire was extinguished, a deceased person was located inside the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation and therefore the scene has been secured.”

Damage to the home is estimated at $80,000.

The Prince George RCMP Serious Crime Unit has conduct of the investigation.

Blom says “This residence is known to police and has been the subject of police investigations in the past.”

Anyone with information, dash cam footage, or surveillance video related to this incident is asked to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
