UNBC sees another high placement in Maclean’s magazine rankings

The annual Maclean’s magazine rankings have placed UNBC second out of 20 universities in the Primary Undergraduate category.

This is the 21st consecutive year the university has finished top five in the category, with 17 of the past 18 years in the top three, and placing second the previous two years.

President, Dr. Geoff Payne talks about the placement.

“That consistency really speaks to the university community, and the efforts they’re making towards our students with teaching, research, and opportunities.”

Dr. Payne says the thing that inspires the university is how the students feel connected to faculty, adding he wants them to feel at home.

The university also saw improvements in three of the five categories in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, including their Research Environmental Score, Research Quality, and Teaching category.

Dr. Payne says this not only highlights where they’re at now, but where they need to go.
