Mother and son team up for a shift with the RCMP

A mother and long-time RCMP Officer was able to work with her son for a shift.

That was one of the requests for Mountie of 38 years, Corporal Madonna Saunderson, before she calls it a career.

Saunderson’s second born, John Saunderson, pursued a job with the RCMP in 2023, leaving for the Depot in Regina for training.

In January of 2024, the now Constable was posted to Terrace, BC to begin his career.

Saunderson said “I am very proud of John and wish him every success as he follows his dreams just as I did all those years ago.”

“Who knows, maybe one day he will get to pass the same torch on to his son or daughter.”

On October 7th, the two partnered up and patrolled the city of Terrace, and was a perfect way to pass the torch.
