Grace Barlow of Prince George and Bobby Jo Love (Smithers Minor Hockey Association) were among three new referees to make the cut.

The other was Melissa Brunn of the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association.

Barlow played three seasons with the Northern Cougars/Capital under-18 AAA program.

In October of 2021, Barlow was part of a history-making all-female officiating crew in a BCHL game involving the Surrey Eagles and Langley Rivermen.

Two years later (April 2023), Barlow received a unique opportunity in Mexico where she was part of the officiating crew Women’s World Division 2 Group A Championship.

Love on the other hand, has spent years dawning the stripes in the KIJHL, WHL and American Hockey League prior to this.

The PWHL’s second season kicks off November 30th.
