Thanks to a friend’s Facebook post, a Mackenzie woman is $500,000 richer.
Marita Grattan found out that a Daily Grand Draw ticket was purchased in the community, and remembered to check the one she purchased, which turned out to be the winner.
She bought it for the October 17th draw.
The Mackenzie resident plans to use some of her winnings to help her family, build a garage and complete home renovations.
“I was in my living room when I found out,” recalled Grattan. “My son was with me when I checked the ticket on the BCLC Lotto! App and then I told my husband. He didn’t believe me!”
“It’s dream-like. It has taken away all the stress I have, and we can help our kids. It will make things a lot easier and provides a sense of security,” said Grattan.
