Recount needed for one ballot box in Prince George – Mackenzie riding

Elections BC is applying for a judicial recount for one ballot box in the Prince George – Mackenzie riding.

This comes after they found around 861 votes were not counted or reported on election night, caused by an unintentional human error.

All parties and candidates, including riding winner Kiel Giddens, have been notified and informed of the measures being taken.

They said this will ensure the results reported are accurate and match what’s recorded on the ballot accounts.

The recount will not affect the outcome of the riding, and no timeline was given as to when it would be completed.

More information can be found on Election BC’s website here.
