Prince George’s unemployment rate rises to 5.8% in October

In its October Labour Force Survey, the unemployment rate jumped to 5.8% – this after it was 5.5 in September.

“There were 55,600 people employed. Last month, it was slightly more at 56,400 people working in September.”

He added with the unemployment rate bouncing to 5.8% after it was 5.5 – this led to a mixed bag of results for several industries.

“What we are seeing is a bit of a decline in the natural resources, there were fewer people working in construction as well – however, there were increases where we see more people in health care and social assistance.”
