Riley Heidt of the Prince George Cougars will get a chance at redemption after he was overlooked last year.
The 19-year-old Minnesota Wild prospect was named to the 32-player national team selection camp, which begins December 10th in Ottawa.
Heidt has 34 points in games this season with the Cougars. He is one of 12 WHL players to have the opportunity to dawn the Maple Leaf this holiday season.

Cougars netminder Josh Ravensbergen was not among the four goaltenders invited to the main camp.
Carson Bjarnasson of the Brandon Wheat Kings and Scott Ratzlaff of the Seattle Thunderbirds were selected to compete for the spots in between the pipes as well as Carter George (Owen Sound Attack) and Jack Ivankovic (Brampton Battalion).
McBride’s Tanner Molendyk of the Saskatoon Blades will also get another chance to play a starring role on Canada’s blueline.
Molendyk made the World Junior team initially last year but was forced to depart due to a wrist injury.

Canada will play its first round-robin game on Boxing Day against Finland at 4:30 Pacific Time.
