Work continues for the LNG project in Kitimat between Chevron and Apache.
Chevron Spokesperson, Gillian Robinson says a lot of progress was made this summer along the Pacific Coast Pipeline near Houston.
“We did some environmental studies, some archaeological studies, access road maintenance, flagging and clearing of the right of way and 100 people worked on that this summer.”
The western portion of the pipeline from Terrace to Houston has seen the most progress.
Robinson adds a final investment decision for the Kitimat project will not take place until certain things happen.
“We have certainty in terms of cost, we have the customers their to delivery and purchase the LNG and when those factors are in place the companies will decide whether or not to hit go on the project.”
Work on the Kitimat plant has been on-going since 2011.
