McBride’s Tanner Molendyk of the Saskatoon Blades is one of two assistant captains for Team Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship starting Boxing Day in Ottawa.
The Nashville Predators signed prospect has four goals and 17 assists for 21 points in 21 games this season with the Blades.
Callum Ritchie of the Oshawa Generals is the second assistant.
Lethbridge Hurricanes star forward Brayden Yager is team captain.
Canada will play its first game against Finland.
