Ravensbergen brilliant again as Cougars overcome Royals

Have a weekend Josh Ravensbergen.

The Cougars’ netminder made 37 saves as the Cougars defeated the Victoria Royals 2-1.

“Rav kept us in there for sure, details weren’t there, they pushed the energy and they were physical, and we didn’t match it,” said Cougars Assistant Coach Carter Rigby on the post-game show on 94.3 the Goat.

“As the game went on, we got better with things, and another huge performance by Josh and some key goals at timely times, to stick in it, they’re not pretty, but we’ll take this one for sure.”

The Cougars got off to a slow start, allowing 20 shots in the first period while only mustering five themselves.

Teydon Trembecky was able to find his way past Ravensbergen in the first to get the Cougars on the board, bringing the 3,946 fans at Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena into the game early.

The Cougars found their legs in the second with Hunter Laing and Aiden Foster scoring in the middle frame.

Victoria outshot Prince George 38-27.
