Sirens Cup charity hockey game to include sizeable 50/50 draw

A trio of fundraisers are being added to the third annual Sirens Cup Charity hockey game between the Prince George RCMP and local firefighters.

Cpl. Jennifer Cooper of the PG RCMP told MyPGNow.com fans in attendance could leave with a pretty good chunk of change when both teams hit the ice on January 25th.

“The one we are most excited to offer fans at the Sirens Cup is the 50/50 draw with a maximum prize of $20,000. That is really exciting and tickets are on sale right now on the Spruce Kings website.”

The other initiatives include the fill-the-boot campaign as well as a chuck-a-puck contest during one of the intermissions.

“We did fill the boot last year and it was a big hit. People might want to scrounge up some spare change and fill our boots. We also have one Stetson, which is our fancy brown boot that we wear with our formal red surge uniform as well as the firefighters duty boot as well.”

“We will see, which one fills up faster,” added Cooper.

Puck drop is at 2pm from the Kopar Memorial Arena – the proceeds from the game will support the PG Firefighters Charitable Society and Cops for Cancer Tour de North.

Last year’s game saw a combined $6,000 raised supporting both charities.

The RCMP defeated the PG Fire Department 4-3 in a shootout during the 2024 edition.

General admission tickets for the Sirens Cup Charity Hockey Game are $5 per ticket,
