NHL:

Connor McDavid of the Oilers and Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers have both been slapped with three game suspensions after delivering cross-checks to the heads of opponents in a game between the teams on Saturday.

The (20-15-10) Canucks host the (17-24-5) Buffalo Sabres tonight at 7:00 while the Oilers entertain the Washington Capitals this evening.

It is part of an 8-game Tuesday menu in the NHL.

The Sabres, who lost 6-4 Monday in Seattle, have the worst record in the Eastern Conference.

WHL: 

The Prince George Cougars host the Brandon Wheat Kings Friday at 7:00 and the Kamloops Blazers Saturday night at 6:00 on Indigenous weekend at CN Centre.

The (24-14-3-2) Cougars are second in the BC Division, four points behind the (25-12-3-4) Victoria Royals.

BCHL: 

The (12-17-3-1) Prince George Spruce Kings end a 10-day break when they host the (19-12-3) Surrey Eagles Wednesday night.

The Spruce Kings are 9th out of 10 in the Coastal Conference, two points behind the (14-17-2) Nanaimo Clippers.

BC Elite Hockey League:

The Under-18 Cariboo Cougars visit the (10-10-2-3) Vancouver North West Hawks Saturday night at 6:00 and Sunday morning at 11:00 in North Van.

The (18-6-1-1) Cougars are in 2nd place in the 8-team BC Elite Hockey League, a point behind the (19-7-0-1) Valley West Giants.

NCAA Football (Championship game)

Ohio State  34  Notre Dame  23

It is the 6th national title and first in a decade for Ohio State.

 

NFL: 

The NFL Conference Finals on Sunday will feature Washington at Philadelphia (noon) in the NFC followed by Buffalo at Kansas City (3:30) in the AFC.

The Eagles are 5 1/2 point favorites over the Commanders while the Chiefs are favored by 2 points over the Bills.

Canada West basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the TRU Wolfpack in Kamloops Friday (noon for the women and 5:30 for the men) and Saturday (4:00 for the women and 6:00 for the men) in Canada West basketball.

The UNBC women are 3-9 while the UNBC men sit 1-11.

The TRU women are 0-13 while the TRU men are 6-8.

NBA:

The (10-32) Toronto Raptors play three games this week.

They host Orlando tonight (4:30) and visit Atlanta Thursday (4:30) and Saturday (4:30).

The Raptors are a league-worst 1-19 on the road and 9-13 at home.
