Prince George photographer to receive Service Award next month

A local photographer will be honoured at the 40th Annual Jeannne Clarke Local History Awards in February.

Chuck Chin, who passed away January 20th, 2024, will be the recipient of the 2025 Jeannne Clarke Local History Service Award for his work to promote and preserve community history.

The Prince George Public Library said for over 18 years, Chin photographed various aspects of the community, capturing both special and everyday moments, and sharing them to social media.

They added some of his photos will be on display at the Bob Harkins Branch of the library from February 3rd to the 28th, where visitors are able to leave messages on a guestbook.

The goal for the Jeannne Clarke Local History Award is to increase interest and highlight the library’s role in local history, and recognize individuals and groups for preserving local history.

The 40th Annual Jeannne Clarke Local History Awards ceremony takes place February 23rd, at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

Nomination period opens for Business Excellence Awards

The five finalists in each Business Excellence Awards category and the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be revealed at a lunchtime announcement at Knox Performance Centre on September 11th. The awards will be handed out at a gala event, featuring keynote speaker Jody Wilson-Raybould, on Saturday, November 1st, at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre.
