It will likely be until the halfway point of the month when PG will see a break in this cold snap we are experiencing.
Temperatures will remain five to ten degrees below normal for the next little while.
Environment Canada Meteorologist, Derek Lee spoke with MyPGNow.com.
“From now until basically next week, all of our temperatures will be remaining in the negatives – negative teens for the daytime high, and then falling to the negative 22 to 24 range during the overnight periods. It is pretty chilly still.”
“We are likely staying in below normal territory with it being five to ten degrees below normal for a good extended period of time,” added Lee.
After the cold snap, more snow is expected to enter the picture.
As for January, the average temperature was -.6.4 degrees, where the normal sits around -7.9.
PG saw 40.1 millmetres of precipitation last month, the normal for January sits at just over 52.9.
