Familiar Face at Two Rivers Gallery to Take the Reins

The Two Rivers Gallery is welcoming a familiar face to the executive director position.

Longtime managing director Peter Thompson has decided to leave his position, with director of public programs Carolyn Holmes taking over.

“When I first came to Prince George, the Gallery was in a small forestry warehouse off of 15th Avenue, so it’s definitely changed physically!” says Holmes, “We’ve also grown in so many ways, we offer amazing exhibitions that are so different from even a decade ago.”

Holmes has been with Two Rivers for 17 years after moving to Prince George from Ontario.

“Everything is growing and we have a wonderful team here, and with new initiatives we’ll be doing a lot of outreach for the region and local area, so we’re really changing and trying to remain relevant.”

Thompson is voluntarily leaving the position on his own will, and says Holmes is the best choice for the job.

The transition in leadership is expected to take around 6 weeks, with Holmes officially taking the wheel on December 1st.
