T-Wolves WBB to don pink jerseys on Shoot for the Cure night

The UNBC Timberwolves will once again be supporting a worthwhile cause ahead of their final weekend of the Canada West season

The women’s basketball team will wear brand new pink cancer themed jerseys, which will be debuted on Friday on Shoot for the Cure Night.

Both sides of the jersey feature names of parents, grandparents, siblings, friends and colleagues who have been affected by cancer. Some have survived, some have lost their lives, but all have left a lasting impact and are now immortalized on the latest UNBC jersey creation.

“Being able to look at a UNBC Women’s Basketball jersey and see the names of loved ones can hopefully serve as a source of inspiration and hope as we continue to make every effort to find a cure for cancer,” said Loralyn Murdoch, Director of Athletics and Recreation for UNBC.

“The Shoot for the Cure initiative is close to the heart, myself included, and I would like to encourage anybody who is able, to support this cause.”

Since its inception in 2007, Shoot for the Cure has raise over $1.97 million in donations for the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) and other related local and provincial charities to help fight breast cancer.
