Three people arrested after night club fight

The Prince George RCMP arrested three people outside of a night club, just after 3:00 am on Sunday.

Mounties were patrolling the area when they observed an assault occur between two women.

Police say when they attempted to arrest the primary suspect in the assault, she became uncooperative.

According to police, a large crowd began to swarm around the officer, reaching out and grabbing at him to attempt to stop him from arresting the suspect.

The officer called for back up, as he determined his safety and the safety of those around him was at risk.

Multiple officers attended to help deescalate the large crowd that had formed.

Two other people were arrested in addition to original suspect.

All three were taken to the RCMP Detachment and were later released without process.

“This is a reminder to the public that you may not always know what is going on or why a person is under arrest by a police officer, but that you must allow our police officers to safely complete their work,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“If you think something is going on that requires follow up by the detachment, there are better ways to have this done than interfering with the police officer.”

The investigation has concluded.
