BC Campgrounds Prosper in 2015

BC Campgrounds are having a record year.

The province has set a new all-time record for camping reservations with 159,000 bookings made in 2015, a 19 percent increase over last year and 32% over 2013.

“British Columbians have long been aware of the amazing camping opportunities we have in our province” said Minister of Environment Mary Polak. “This year, we’ve seen a substantial increase in the number of people around the world who are enjoying those opportunities.”

Visitors from outside the province made up one quarter of the record number of reservations.

“Whether they’re from Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, all of these visitors are making up a huge increase.”

BC Parks has invested approximately 60 million dollars into park facilities.
