More people in BC are saying I do according to Stats Canada.
Demographer, Andre Lebel has the numbers.
“In 2015 the province had 1.9 million people accounting for 41 percent in union while we saw 1.1 million single people in BC which is 39 percent of the population.”
Lebel adds one category dominated the latest family census.
“There is 1.1 million people living in coupled families and close to 200 thousand people living in lone parent families.”
Lone parent families in BC has grown 7% since 2006 while the national numbers show a 10% spike.
Just under 14 million people in Canada are currently married.
