PG Cadets Aim for Vimy Ridge

Local Army Cadets are hoping to set foot on a historic battleground.

Prince George’s Rocky Mountain Rangers are raising money to travel across the Atlantic and attend the 100th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge in 2017.

“We have an ongoing bottle drive right now where people can drop off bottles to the 1st avenue bottle depot location and let them know it’s going towards the 2618 Rocky Mountain Rangers” said Captain Valerie Bergy.

Around 20 Cadets are planning on going, the trip will cost roughly $4000 each.

“It’s really significant” said Bergy. “I think it will bring more meaning to them as young Canadians.”

Units all across Canada are hoping to attend the centennial anniversary of the famous battle.
